Crotched Mountain Accessible Recreation and Sports (CMARS) brings people living with disabilities together with family and friends in a range of accessible recreational and sport activities.

Our certified recreational therapists utilize the broad recreational resources at the Crotched Mountain campus — as well as in the larger community — to design high quality programs that ensure success and enjoyment for everyone.

Our programs include:

  • Alpine Skiing and Snowboarding at Crotched Mountain Ski & Ride
  • Snowshoeing and X-country skiing
  • Hiking & Outdoor Education
  • Kayaking and Canoeing

Introduction to Kayaking

Are you interested in learning to kayak? Nervous to give it a try? Not sure how to get into the kayak? We can help. We offer paddling opportunities in a safe and supportive environment with various levels of support and adaptations as needed for individual success.

Kayaking lesson: Saturday 9:30-11:30 am on July 28
Cost: $45

Sunset Lake Spectacular

Come experience the enjoyment of kayaking in a safe and social atmosphere. For new or beginner kayakers wanting to learn or advance their kayaking skills. We will explore the shores of Sunset Lake, play water games and challenge each other with some friendly relay race competition.

Sunset session 1: Mondays 1:00-3:00 pm on July 2, 9, 16
Sunset session 2: Thursdays 9:30-11:30 am on July 5, 12, 19
Cost: $120 for each 3-day session

Monadnock Waterway Adventures

This session is for kayakers who have developed basic kayaking knowledge and want to advance their skills. Focus will be on stroke development, as well as exiting and re-entering the kayak from the water. On the third lesson of the session we will explore a local Monadnock waterway. Come join us for the adventure!

Adventure Wednesdays

9:30-11:30 am on July 11, 18 and August 1
Cost: $150 for this 3-day session
