A day and residential school Situated in a picturesque New Hampshire countryside, Crotched Mountain offers both day and residential school options all year. Through individualized education plans (IEPs) and supports, students are encouraged to learn and grow at their own pace and at their own level. This may include a mastery of daily living skills through a high school diploma.
With all students, our goal is to increase their social, educational and vocational opportunities, and encourage their involvement in school and community life. As a family-centered special education school, we encourage families to be actively involved in their student's education and activities.
Expert therapies and medical care On-site therapists and medical professionals work as a team with school staff to integrate therapies and supports into each student's education program. Our hospital and health center can address the routine and acute health care needs of our students.

"I personally will never forget Zachery's first day at Crotched Mountain School. He was transitioning from another specialty school, and I was nervous. For the first time since junior high, Zachery was dressed and waiting at the door with smile on his face. I said, 'Zachery, I have never seen you so ready to go to school.' He replied, 'Mom, I love going to my new school. I finally feel like I fit in somewhere and the teachers understand me.' To this day, he still tells me it is the best school he has ever been to." - Katie Mercier, parent
