Dorine Pelletier

GREENFIELD , NH — Dorine Pelletier, MBA, senior accountant at Crotched Mountain Foundation, was recently named chair of the Statewide Independent Living Council (SILC) for the State of New Hampshire as of July 1, 2005.

The SILC is responsible for the development and implementation of a state plan for providing, improving and expanding independent living services to individuals with significant disabilities. It does so in collaboration with the State's vocational rehabilitation agency as part of its overall charge to promote the independent living philosophy statewide. Every state is required to have a SILC by federal statute (Rehabilitation Act of 1973, as amended). Council members are appointed by the Governor for a three-year term, and may be re-appointed for an additional three-year term.

Ms. Pelletier has served on the SLIC for the past two years, most recently serving in the position of 1st vice chair, as well as the chair of the membership committee. Additionally, she has served on state plan committee. "I'm honored by this appointment," states Ms. Pelletier, "and am looking forward to implementing the 2005-2007 State Plan. In these difficult economic times, we are looking to collaborate with different organizations throughout the state to help improve and expand on the services that are already being provided to individuals with disabilities."

After receiving an associate's degree in Business Administration from New Hampshire Technical Institute, Ms. Pelletier went on to earn her bachelor's degree in Accounting and her Masters in Business Administration from Southern New Hampshire University. She is a resident of Greenville, NH and has been employed at Crotched Mountain since 2000.
