The
Harry Gregg Foundation provides financial
assistance to improve the lives of people in New
Hampshire with physical, intellectual, or emotional
disabilities. It was established in 1989 in memory
of Harry
Gregg (1883-1972), founder of the Crotched
Mountain Rehabilitation Center. Since then,
the Foundation has made more than 5,000 grants totaling
almost $2 million. Funds may be requested for many
purposes including:
The costs of non-reimbursed medical or therapy
treatments not covered by insurance or other
programs;
Specialty equipment services or supplies;
Modifications to living area, work site or
vehicle;
Respite services to the recipient or caregivers;
Costs of attending a special camp;
Recreational activities or
Vocational education or driver training tuition
assistance
Overview Harry
Gregg Foundation 2011 Recreation Funds Expended
As of May 4th, Harry Gregg
Recreation Funds were fully expended for the year. Funds
for recreation are allocated each year in January, are
reviewed on a weekly basis starting in January, and
always go quickly. This year, in addition to a block
grant to Camp Allen, we made 97 grants to individuals
for camp, fitness memberships, music lessons, karate
classes and other recreational activities. If you missed
out on funds this year, we hope you will apply for funds
in 2012 as early in the year as you can.
Applications for HGF funds to
attend Camp Allen are now administered by Camp Allen.
Please do not submit applications for funds to attend
Camp Allen through this website. Camp Allen will process
all HGF applications for Camp Allen tuition.

Gregg Foundation Announces Funds for Lakes Region
The Harry
Gregg Foundation is pleased to announce a $5,000 grant
from the Samuel P. Pardoe Foundation to assist residents
with disabilities from the Lakes Region.
“Like
many non-profits, the Harry Gregg Foundation
is challenged more than ever to meet the needs of all the
people who seek our assistance. The Pardoe Foundation
grant will certainly help us toward our goal to provide
meaningful support to the Lakes Region’s most vulnerable
citizens. We are extremely grateful to the Pardoe
Foundation for this award.” said HGF president Don
Shumway.
The
Samuel P. Pardoe Foundation was founded in 1989 and takes
a special interest in programs that provide educational
and economic opportunities for underprivileged persons.

A note on recreation grants:
Recreation grants are not reviewed at the quarterly
meetings, but are reviewed on an on-going basis
beginning in January when funds are allocated.
Recreation funds are distributed on a first come,
first serve basis. Applications submitted early in
the year are more likely to be funded as funds are
limited and are expended quickly. Please note:
all hippotherapy requests are considered
recreational grants, as are all recreational
activities not attended and facilitated by a
licensed physical, occupational or speech therapist.
