Dance Instructor Addy explores the joy of dance with Caitlin.

Greenfield, NH. The New England Society for Healthcare Communications (NESHCo) recently honored Crotched Mountain Foundation for excellence in marketing, public relations and communications.
At this year's NESHCo Lamplighter Awards Ceremony, Crotched Mountain Foundation received a gold in the Audio- Visual presentations category for its video Two Dancers. The award winning video featured Kaitlin Rooney, a student from Crotched Mountain School who has cerebral palsy, along with her adaptive dance instructor Addie Gantt. Through dance, Kaitlin and Addie communicate, explore new ideas through movement and demonstrate the important role that the arts play in self-expression for people of all abilities. "Through her experiences at Crotched Mountain, Kaitlin has really been able find herself, and find a place to be herself," said Bob and Kim Rooney, Kaitlin's parents. "Addie is a wonderful dance instructor who hassupported Kaitlinto learn and grow in her own unique way. Dancing sets her free, and as Kaitlin says: 'it makes me feel pretty.'"
"The video Two Dancers from Crotched Mountain Foundation was an example of the best and brightest work produced in our area," said Lee Reynolds Crouch, APR, president of NESHCo. "The entry was creative, innovative and results-driven and showcased Crotched Mountain Foundation extremely well."
The Lamplighters were established in 1974 to showcase and honor excellence in health care communications in the New England region. The 2011 competition included more than 340 entries from more than 85 organizations throughout the area. Entries were judged by the Minnesota Health Strategy and Communications Network.
