GREENFIELD, NH- The Crotched Mountain Eagles and The Contoocook School Cougars played their first basketball game of the season on Friday, February 17th.

Phys. Ed. Teacher Don Tilton was coach for the Eagles, as well as the referee for the game, while Katie of The Contoocook School coached the Cougars. Matt, an intern staff member from The Contoocook School, was the sports announcer giving play-by-play commentary.

Players from both teams ran up and down the court passing the ball and blocking plays until Contoocook made it on the score board first with 2 points. The Crotched Mountain Eagles made a come back and tied the score 4:4 by the end of the first quarter. Crotched continued to fight for the ball throughout the second quarter and came out ahead with a score of 11:6 Eagles at the half.

The Cougars came on strong during the second half scoring two 3 point baskets right away. The Eagles clawed their way back and scored another 3 points just as the whistle blew ending the third quarter.

Players on both teams gave their all on the court. In the end, the Cougars won the game with a final score of 35:25.
