Staff Profiles: Assistive Technology 

LINDA BELIVEAU, is the new assistive technology technician in ATU. She is a 2006 graduate of Franklin Pierce College and a 2005 leadership graduate from UNH's Institute on Disabilities. Linda has been involved in many projects that explore education, technology and diversity such as the Jason Project, NH Connections and the NH State Summit on Positive Behavior Intervention Strategies. She enjoys parenting her three teenagers, gardening the rocky soil of Weare, and musical theatre.

DAVID KONTAK, MA, MS, OTR/L is the Director of Assistive Technology Services. David has devoted many years to the study and practice of Occupational Therapy and technology. He is noted for his experience in direct client assessment and support in the areas of augmentative communication, computer access, adapted arts, mobility and vocational/educational support. He is a licensed Occupational Therapist who also has a Master's degree in Fine Arts. David was an assistant professor of Art at Kent State University from 1985 to 1992. He taught courses in assistive technology at Colorado State University and the University of Colorado/Denver.

PETER LEAVITT, foreman of the Assistive Technology Unit, coordinates the Seating and Mobility clinics at Crotched Mountain. Working closely with the families, vendors and therapists involved in order to optimize the clients' assistive technology needs. Peter brings approximately 10 years of experience in the assistive technology field with an extensive background in fabrication and design of custom made products (cabinetmaking). Peter received his AAS degree in Electro-Mechanical Technologies, with a strong emphasis in robotics, from New Hampshire Technical College, Nashua. Peter also is a RESNA certified Assistive Technology Practitioner.
