Crotched Mountain > Foundation > HARRY GREGG FOUNDATION                                            Overview The Harry Gregg Foundation provides financial assistance to improve the lives of people in New Hampshire with physical, intellectual, or emotional disabilities.  It was established in 1989 in memory of Harry Gregg (1883-1972), founder of the Crotched Mountain Rehabilitation Center.   Since then, the Foundation has made more than 5,000 grants totaling almost $2 million.  Funds may be requested for many purposes including: costs of medical, dental, vision, hearing, or therapy treatments not covered by insurance or other programs special equipment, services or supplies modifications to living area, workplace or vehicle respite services and recreational activities vocational, educational or driver training Harry Gregg Foundation Recreational Funds for 2008 Now Available Once again the HGF has funds available for recreational purposes. A total of $40,000 has been designated for recreational grants starting in January 2008. Last year, the HGF gave $45,000 to 169 people with disabilities for camp tuition, dance classes, fitness club memberships, horseback riding and other recreational pursuits. Grants were awarded to 83 children and 86 adults. Grants are again limited to $300 and, as always, applicants with low income are given priority. When submitting an application, please make sure all sections are complete and a separate physician's diagnosis of the applicant's disability is included. Applications cannot be processed without this documentation. Don't hesitate! As always, funds will go fast!!!   Applications are reviewed by the HGF Trustees four times a year on the second Tuesdays in January, April, July and October. Applications to be considered must be received in our offices by the following dates in 2007 and 2008: Meeting January 8th, 2008 Application deadline December 3rd, 2007 Meeting April 8th, 2008 Application deadline March 3rd, 2008 Meeting July 8 th, 2008 Application deadline June 2nd, 2008 Meeting October 14th, 2008 Application deadline September 9th, 2008 These deadlines do not apply to applications for camp tuition or recreational activities as these are reviewed and awarded on an ongoing basis.
