From The Principal's Desk: Parent Newsletter

Dear Parents, Guardians, and Friends,

The look of the School will soon be changing! As you read this, the walls are being completed on the new Skills Center. It is just down the Mountain, a stone's throw from the School. The new chip plant is next door to the Skills Center and is already in action, keeping us toasty warm this winter!

What will this do for the School? We'll have new space for our woodshop and work exposure classroom, space for recycling and central receiving (where a number of kids currently work), as well as many potential oppor-tunities, such as small engine repair and basic automotive skills! This is a terrific opportunity and we are all very excited. Stay tuned for more information.

But there is more! The classes that move will leave some space behind in the existing building for us to use. We hope to use some of this vacated space for a larger music room and a class or two for kids with Autism.

On another topic, you will receive next year's school calendar soon. I want to point out one change. School will be in session the first two days of Thanksgiving week. This will allow us to take Memorial Day and one other holiday off next year!

So, from high atop Crotched Mountain, where winter has been a little warm this year but we are hoping for snow soon............
