WHAT IS IS ABOUT
BRAIN INJURY?

Brain Injury of America president & CEO Susan Connors explains why there has been so little research in the field [Read article in pdf format.]

GREENFIELD, NH – Author and brain injury survivor Beverly Bryant, will share her story, Dreams Begin When People Say You Can't, at Crotched Mountain Rehabilitation Center on Monday, October 15th at 3:15 pm. in Carter Memorial Meeting House. The public is welcome free of charge.

In a matter of seconds, on an icy, dark road in Maine , Beverly Bryant's life – as she knew it – ended. A traumatic brain injury forced Ms. Bryant to relearn even the most basic lessons of life - from knowing she needed to eat, to how to cross the street. Her inability to stay focused, to not fear the unknown, to handle emotions and struggles all foreign to this healthy, educated mother, coach, gymnastics judge, real estate broker, wife and friend, sent her on a journey to regain part of the life she lost on that road in Maine.

She claims a stranger still lives within her, but for anyone who has struggled with a physical disability, or sought a more stable emotional ground, Ms. Bryant's recounting of her 13-month struggle through rehabilitation will serve as inspiration. She tells her full story in her book, In Search of Wings, published in 2001 by Lash & Associates. It, and her sequel, To Wherever Oceans Go, can be ordered through her website: www.bbryant.com

The presentation is part of the Hilliard Series, in honor of Clinton Hilliard, former head of the Speech and Hearing Department at Crotched Mountain . This series is made possible through gifts made in his memory. Seating is limited. Please call 603-547-3311 ext. 589 by October 11th for reservations, or for further information.
