GREENFIELD, NH — Some 250 guests attended Gala 2006, a benefit co-hosted by Crotched Mountain and Monadnock Community Hospital on Saturday, June 17, 2006 at the rehabilitation center's campus in Greenfield, NH. The formal dinner dance raised $50,000 to support the Accessible Recreation Project at Crotched Mountain and Monadnock Community Hospital's Healthy Teeth Program. This is the fifth year the two organizations have co-hosted the event.

In his remarks, Crotched Mountain president Donald L. Shumway thanked everyone present for their enthusiastic support. "By working together with our good friends at Monadnock Community Hospital, through this event and other collaborative opportunities, we can better serve our respective communities."

Though unable to attend the event due to a family commitment, Peter Gosline, president of Monadnock Community Hospital, welcomed those gathered through a special video-taped greeting. He echoed Mr. Shumway's sentiments about the valued relationships between the two organizations and expressed his appreciation to all those who made this evening possible.

Guests danced to the music of Chase, a band based in Boston, and also enjoyed music by the Sharon Jones Trio of Portsmouth. Catering was provided by Crotched Mountain food services. Table arrangements were created by the students of Crotched Mountain under the direction of horticulture teacher Mark Tenney.

Crotched Mountain is a charitable organization employing more than 900 people.
