Visiting Artists: Archie Steward, Master Kite Builder

Archie Stewart, of Chestnut Hill, MA, is an Eastern League Kite Champion and the winner of the Newport Cup for the highest scoring champion at the Newport Kite Festival.

Mr. Stewart offers workshops for ages 6-14 on kite building and kite flying, utilizing hands-on, interactive teaching, combines both the academics and pleasures of kiting. He encourages students to "teambuild" as they work together to create their own kites.

Archie Stewart is a member of the American Kitefliers Association (AKA) and, as a sport kite competitor, won the '99-'00 Eastern League Championship in individual precision flight and pairs ballet.

Mr. Stewart was last at Crotched Mountain for the second annual Indoor Kite Flying Festival held on February 11, 2007, and will return on October 6, 2007 for the Crotched Mountain Kite Festival.
