Founded in 1979 by people with disabilities and parents of children with disabilities. DREDF is a national law and policy center dedicated to protecting and advancing the cival rights of people with disabilities through legislation, litigation, advocacy, technical assistance, education and training. The site shows a list of examples relating to the achievements of DREDF. They also provide address, phone/fax information for easy communication with the center.
LII is affiliated with the Cornell University School of Law in Ithaca, NY. One government function is education, which is administered through the public school system by the department of education. The states, therefore, have primary responsibility for the maintenance and operation of public schools. The Federal Government also has an interest in education. The National Institute of Education was created to improve education in the United States.
