Therapeutic Recreation

Support services

 

The Therapeutic Recreation Department seeks to support other programs, departments and community entities in efforts to provide recreational experiences for as many students and clients as possible.

Adaptive Dance Program

Therapeutic Recreation’s role is to support the dancers and help everyone that wants to participate do so. Dance is very easily adapted to all abilities.

Block Parties

Are coordinated by the Residential Services department. Block Parties usually have a theme and block off the road to residential so it can be held in the street. Therapeutic Recreation’s role is to help with entertainment and games.

Healing Arts

Healing Arts is an opportunity to have artists from the area come and share their talent with individuals at Crotched Mountain. Therapeutic Recreation facilitates the interaction between individuals and the artists.

Fall Festival

Fall Festival happens once a year in October. It is coordinated by the Case Management and Administration departments. The Fall Festival is for the school and families to enjoy a day of festivities. Therapeutic Recreation’s role is to organize the dance.

Talent Shows

Talent Shows are coordinated by Crotched Mountain School or Residential Services staff. They are held once or twice a year. Therapeutic Recreation’s role is to help anyone who wants to participate to choreograph and participate in the Talent Show.
